Independents' Day Events

CBA Independents' Day activities
On October 15, 2011, booksellers and other independent business owners from all across the country celebrated CBA Independents’ Day—a day designed to promote the importance of locally owned businesses to lively communities.

Independents Day in Almonte – Books and cake!

Mill Street Books, recently named as one of Canada’s top 10 book stores by CBC readers, served up books and cake in celebration of Independents Day on October 15. Mill Street Books is owned by Terry and Mary Lumsden, who are proud to say that their store is a link instead of a chain.

Independents Day in Orangeville – More cake, and authors too!

BookLore in Orangeville, owned by Nancy Frater, offered cake and apple cider to customers and held draws throughout Independents Day. Local author Jayne Self launched her latest book with an in-store signing.
